Danny Faith
Since joining Dorset Police in 1989 Danny has worked in many areas of policing. However, it was not until 2001 that he took on his first full time job working with computers. First training as an instructor on Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems, then moving on to become the system administrator for the Dorset Police ANPR system. During his two years working in this area Danny was the southwest region representative on the National ANPR user group and went on to set up the South West region’s user group.
In January 2003 Danny moved into the field of computer forensics, attending Encase training in Liverpool and then in June 2003 taking up a full time position within the Hi-Tech crime unit of Dorset Police. Although still a Dorset Police officer Danny is presently seconded to the National Technical Assistance Centre (NTAC). Since commencing work in the field of computer forensics he has completed extensive training at Cranfield University, where he is presently studying for his Masters Degree in Forensic Computing. He has also carried out extensive training at NPIA, Wyboston. In 2006 Danny qualified as a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) with the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) and is presently the UK regional manager for the CFCE training process. Danny is a married with 2 children and presently spends what spare time he has assisting at their local Pony Club and taking his daughter and her horse to show jumping and cross country competitions. |
